Valentine’s Day 2019

Who doesn’t like chocolate? I love my chocolate and coffee, and I thought with Valentine’s Day only days away, I would share what we will be up to. Make sure you don’t miss us online.

Chocolate play, lots of chocolate play. I’ve been busy cutting out lots of red and pink hearts. and will continue to put together some cute decorations. however tonight I headed to the kitchen and made homemade chocolate sauce and body paint which was lots of fun? So I jumped on cam to share with my followers. I have included a couple of the recipes I used.

Aussie J’s Homemade Chocolate Sauce

Prep Time – 15 mins. Total Time – 15 mins

Ingredients

J in the kitchen
  • A clean sterile pouring jug. You can sterilize your jug in a pan of boiling water.
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar or maple syrup for a healthy alternative.
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, or espresso coffee

Instructions

  1. In a cold saucepan, whisk together the cocoa and the sugar until all lumps are removed. Add the salt and the water and bring to a boil over medium to medium high heat.
  2. Reduce to a simmer; stirring constantly. Simmer for about 30 seconds and then remove from heat. Let cool and then add vanilla. Pour into a glass jar and refrigerate until needed. Enjoy!

Notes

The chocolate sauce will be very thin when it finishes boiling, but it will thicken quite a bit as it cools. The chocolate sauce may be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Simply reheat before serving.

J’s Homemade Chocolate Body Paint.

Prep Time – 15 mins. Total Time – 15 mins

Ingredients

  • A clean sterile jar (about 200ml. You can sterilize your jar in a pan of boiling water.)
  • 6 tablespoons raw cocoa powder (best quality you can find)
  • 6 tablespoons butter. My suggestion is that you replace the butter with coconut oil
  • 6 tablespoons sugar (golden caster sugar is best but normal sugar is fine if you don’t have that or golden syrup)
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Place everything into a saucepan over a very low heat, stirring gently until the butter and sugar dissolve and the sauce is glossy. Then pour into the jar and use the paint with a clean makeup brush or your fingers.

2. If you’re not using the paint right away (who can wait?), it will keep in the fridge as long as the butter sell by date. If the sauce hardens, you can stand the jar in a bowl of hot water or microwave it on low for 20 seconds to one minute (if you used a microwaveable jar). Do this in short bursts so that the paint does not get too hot and remove the lid from the jar first before putting it in the microwave!

J creations for valentine’s Day

Variations
Try adding one of your favorite ingredients such as;

Flavored booze – for example, peach schnapps, Cointreau, raspberry vodka, bourbon or Bailey’s.
Coffee – add strong coffee in place of the water for a Mocha flavor paint.
Syrup – great if you have an especially sweet tooth but it will make things extra sticky to be prepared for extra licking! Try golden syrup, maple syrup, or treacle.
Coffee flavorings – you can also add the kind of syrups that are added to coffee to give it extra flavor. You can get flavors like vanilla, gingerbread, hazelnut, caramel and cinnamon.
Vanilla – a few drops of vanilla essence – good if you want a vanilla flavor without the additional sweetness.
Mint – add a small bunch finely chopped mint leaves to the pan along with the initial ingredients or a few drops of peppermint oil.
